ESA workshop presents STAC asset integration for the EOPF Zarr Samples
On Wednesday 16 April 2025, the ESA STAC & Zarr Workshop featured a presentation by Mario Winkler (DLR) on providing STAC metadata for the EOPF Sentinel Zarr Samples Service. The session detailed how standardised metadata and open formats are enabling improved discoverability and accessibility of Copernicus Earth observation data.
The presentation offered an in-depth look at how EOPF products, particularly for Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2, are now accessible via STAC-compliant catalogues and APIs. Attendees were guided through the structure of STAC Items, the role of best practices, and the technical design behind asset exposure across the EOPF archive.
